I grew up in an Indian household where every small health problem was first dealt with home remedies that are inspired mostly by Ayurveda. Home remedies became a natural part of my lifestyle that at times I presumed everyone is doing the same. But when I came across few of my friends who were troubled with small (but annoying) health issues due to the change of season or stressful lifestyle and they didn’t know how to deal with it first hand, I understood that not everyone is aware of home based healthy and effective solutions. Catching is common and to my disbelief I understood that my close friends too didn’t know any home remedy for cold.

- Soothing the respiratory tract – Have you felt itchiness in your throat due to cough or cold? Then should you try the combination for the warmth of cinnamon and smoothness of honey brings a comforting feeling in the entire respiratory tract.
- Repairs hair and skin – It is very common to feel frizziness in hair and dryness in skin due to the lack of moisture in winter air. Honey has the property of preserving moisture and cinnamon is effective in curing the damaged cells with its anti inflammatory quality. Therefore, you should consume the combination of honey and cinnamon for repairing hair and skin in winters.
How to use honey and cinnamon together?
- To 1 teaspoon of honey add a pinch of cinnamon powder.
- Lightly mix them together with your little finger OR place honey & cinnamon powder in a small bowl, then stir them together.
- Swallow the mix slowly down the deep end of your tongue.
- For best results, try to avoid drinking water immediately after taking honey and cinnamon as this will allow the mix to soothe your throat and relieve any throat irritations you may have due to cold.
When should you take honey and cinnamon mix?
Morning – Take it first thing in the morning.
